Researcher within synthesis and characterization of metal-organic frameworks
At the Department of Chemistry, University of Bergen, there is a vacancy for a position as a researcher within synthesis and characterization of metal-organic frameworks with bifunctional linkers. The position is for a period of 2 years and part of the project “Metal-organic frameworks for recovery and separation of critical metals”, which is funded by the Research Council of Norway.
About the project/work tasks:
The primary objective of the project is to identify, develop and demonstrate the use of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for the recovery and separation of critical metals relevant to low carbon energy technologies such as the battery, solar photovoltaic, wind energy, and catalysis. The main tasks for the researcher will be synthesis of bifunctional organic linker molecules, synthesis of metal-organic framework compounds using these linkers, and characterization of the obtained materials, primarily by X-ray diffraction, including synchrotron experiments, thermal analysis and sorption measurements.
