Open RQC colloquium. Lecture 3
The third lecture "Nonlinear optics: A universal toolbox for quantum science and technologies" in "Open RQC colloquium" will be held in National University of Science and Technology MISIS (Moscow, Leninskiy prospekt 4), lecture hall № Б-636, on 17th of June at 10:00 a.m by Alexey Zheltikov, professor of Texas A&M University (USA) and Advanced Photonics group lead in RQC.
Summary
Methods of nonlinear optics combined with cutting-edge laser technologies offer a unique arsenal of tools for quantum science. Innovative optical fibers help generate and accurately sculpt ultrashort optical waveforms with subcycle pulse widths, enabling an all-optical detection of fundamental quantum processes, such as electron tunneling, with an unprecedented time resolution. High-order harmonic generation by ultrashort laser pulses opens the way toward an all-optical mapping of the electron band structure in bulk solids. When integrated with diamond quantum sensors, specifically designed optical fibers enable highly sensitive optical magnetometry and thermometry, empowering new directions of research in bio- and neurophotonics.
The next lecture ''Many-body localization: from disordered semiconductors to adiabatic quantum computers" will be held on 8th of July at 10.00 a.m by Boris Althuler, Columbia University, USA.
Please don't forget to take passport for entering to the University.
