A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the SUBATECH Laboratory (Ecole des Mines de Nantes, FRANCE) in a research group focusing on the computational molecular modeling of materials and processes relevant to nuclear waste disposal applications. The objective of the project is to quantify the effects of organic additives on the adsorption and mobility of nuclear waste species at the surfaces and in the nano-pores of cement phases (see a detailed description attached). The position is funded by ANDRA (Agence Nationale pour la gestion des Déchets Radioactifs).
The successful applicant should have an earned Ph.D. (or candidate of sci.), demonstrated experience with classical and/or quantum molecular computer simulations, and a strong interest in the application of these techniques to study the properties of cement and other environmentally and technologically important materials. Experience with large scale molecular simulations and high performance computing is expected.
