The EMAT research group at the University of Antwerp in Belgium
(www.emat.ua.ac.be) is recruiting a PhD student to join a research project on
the interaction between soft and hard matter. In this project state-of-the-art electron microscopy will be used. Part of the research will be in collaboration with industrial companies.
The PhD candidate will be expected to optimize and apply advanced electron microscopy techniques in order to study interfaces between soft and hard matter (for example: polymer-steel or mixtures of carbon nanotubes and polymers).
Your profile:
Master of science (Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry);
Background in electron microscopy is a plus;
A good command of the English language is an asset;

Project term:
Enrolment will start as soon as possible. The Ph.D. student will be appointed for a period of four years; after the first year an evaluation will take place.
